Carrie is a global expert on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and a leading trainer and coach in personal and organizational effectiveness, specifically as it relates to women’s issues. Her areas of specialization include leadership development, change management, organizational development, strategic planning, and multicultural team development. Carrie’s mission is to empower women, young adults, leaders, and emerging leaders of any age to become the architects of a new world order of multiculturalism and conflict-free coexistence.
Dr. Spell-Hansson is a sought-after speaker and trainer by multinational companies across multiple industries. She delivers her expertise worldwide, including Africa, Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, Canada, and the Americas.
She has held positions as Vice President of Finance and Administration, Dean of Intercultural Development, and Vice President of Organizational Development and Culture Change before launching her company, The Folke Institute for Transformative Learning in 2004. Her experiences allow her to be highly effective as a professional speaker, classroom facilitator, coach, and organizational change agent.
Carrie has a Ph.D. in Human and Organizational Systems. Her dissertation research focused on women in leadership positions and how they thrive amidst barriers of lack of respect in organizations. She has a Master’s in Human Development, a Master’s in Human Resource Management/Organizational Development, and a B.A. in Business Administration/Finance. She is currently a Fellow at the Institute for Social Innovation (ISI) and an Affiliate Member of the Respect Research Group, Hamburg, Germany.
She has presented her research on the imposter syndrome, leadership development, restorative leadership, leveraging the organization’s human resources, and developing effective multicultural teams at numerous meetings and conferences in North America and Europe.
