Review

This workshop is the fifth session in DeKalb’s Managing for Performance program. At the beginning of the workshop, there will be high level review of the content from Session Four, Purposeful Delegation and Managing Change. To help prepare for the review, skim the Participant Workbooks from that session. (Use your own copy or review the one online.)

4

Read

Read the article, Pulling Together with a Purpose and consider how you could apply the information to improve the performance of your team.

During the Break

1

Complete a Team Assessment

Use pages 7-8 in your Workbook and analyze the performance of your team based on the six characteristics. Be prepared to share any insights you gained.

2

Identify Behavior Styles

Create a list of your team members. Next to their names, write the initials of what you think is their primary and secondary Behavior Style. For example, a Stabilizer-Analyzer would be S-A. (NOTE: Most individuals exhibit some degree of two behavior styles fairly easily, so try to avoid limiting your team members to only one style.)

For a brief review of Behavior Styles, watch the Beauty of Styles video from Session One:

After the Workshop

1

Review

Take a few moments to review the six characteristics of high-performing team and your team’s Behavior Style distribution.

2

Team Action Plan

Use the Team Action Plan on page 15 in the workbook and write down two specific actions you will take to improve your team’s performance.
